The search is on

I need a new favorite Wild player since Doug Risebrough is a douche and bought out Mark Parrish. Opinions, anyone? After I finish up my internship this week, I'll write a more detailed list of pros and cons for you guys and see what you think.

In the meantime, Joe Sakic is going to speak with the media on Thursday before his golf tournament. Jibblescribbits and I will probably be depressed for weeks if he announces his retirement. I will be at least. I do hope he decides to stay for the 2010 Olympics in his hometown, that would be uber cool, but I gotta respect whatever descision he makes as the right one for himself and his family.

Part 4 of the 100 things list coming soon. Maybe after I'm finished with that list, I'll even talk about hockey...

From a pure longevity standpoint, go with Burns, Schultz or Koivu.

I've had a lot of votes for Koivu, mostly from my female friends. My guy friends tend to vote for Burns, Bouchard, or Schultz. Clearly they aren't as organized as the girls.

This is a good point, though, I've gone through several players in the past few years, so I should pick someone who will stick around. Those three are definitely not going anywhere. Sadly Gaborik probably isn't, but I'd rather buy a Pronger sweater than a Gaborik one.

I'd say Koivu or Schultz...both are solid and should be with the Wild for a while. Koivu is single (well, he supposedly has a girlfriend back in Finland, but no one here has seen her...?) and Schultz is married with a son that turns one next month...I'd go with Koivu. You can swoon without feeling guilty about his wife and kiddie at home :-)
