Baseball is coming!

Ok, so normally I don't care about baseball until hockey is done, but I'm still a little bit excited anyway for the beginning of Spring Training. Pitchers and catchers report today! I'm super depressed about the fact that we don't really have a starting rotation, and we don't have anyone to play on the left side of the field, but you know what, maybe it'll be ok. Maybe this will be the year I get circled by Bert!

PS, I used to have a Twins Territory sign up on my door, but it got lost at the end of freshman year. If anyone knows where I could get another, I'd be eternally grateful.

The Strib had a thing this morning about how we have such a large group of young arms, they're just unproven. I laughed. Because really, we barely have enough people to fill a starting rotation. AND they're unproven.

Ahhh I want to be circled by Bert so badly!

Haha, it's so true. We have um, Baker? Slowey? (baby Bradke!) Liriano might be back, but it might take a while for him to get back to his pre surgery form.

At least we re-signed Matt Guerrier.

Life would be complete if I were to get circled by Bert.

Thanks for making me feel welcome! I'm excited to get into blogging.
On the Twins, I really hope that we will at least be able to SURVIVE this upcoming season. I'm hoping that Baker will prove himself because not only did he do alright last season, he's such a nice guy.

We have BOOF(!!) too! and a bunch of random people I've never heard of in the trade. and some guy I've never heard of as a free agent. Liriano's already late to spring training because of some Visa issue. And I love Slowey aka Baby Bradke. I hope he does well.

I hope Baker does well, too. He definitely improved at the end of last season (he had that amazing almost no hitter).

Maggieeeeee-No problem. Hopefully you will enjoy your time in the blogosphere.
I've never been a huge fan of Baker, but I'm willing to give him a chance if he pitches well. My patience will be limited, though.

Elise-How could I forget about Boof? (You and Bert seem to really enjoy his name) I'm a big fan of Baby Bradke, mostly because I was a huge fan of Bradke, so I'm willing to give this kid many more chances. I pick and choose like that.
Anything is improvement over the way he was pitching before...

I have loved Baby Bradke since I saw the behind the scenes thing the Twins did with him last year. Basically they followed him around for a day and he was hilarious. And he's fluent in Spanish! And talks a lot, apparently. (And he had some...okay...games last year haha)

And yes, Boof is quite fun to say.

This is simply awesome. Great to know you're a big Twins fan, Kirsten! Same goes for Elise. :)

I've been following the Twins as an out-of-town team for a long time. It dates back to around 1985 as a kid. I still remember the likes of Kirby Puckett (how could I not), Kent Krbek, Tom Brunansky, Gary Gaetti, Frank "Sweet Music" Viola among others. The 1987 and 1991 World Series titles still hold dear to my heart. When the Twins won their second title, it eased the pain of the North Stars' Cup Finals defeat at the hands of the Penguins.

Having love for the Wild AND Twins is the perfect combination for me as I've sure it is for you guys!

Cannot wait for the new ballpark to open in a couple of years! I've waited so long for that dream to come true. I better get to the Metrodome soon for a game before it's too late, LOL.

Elise-I have not see this behind the scenes with Baby Bradke. Hmmm, do you know where I could find it?
My favorite with Bert is when we play KC and they have Jimmy Gobble pitching. Dick will be talking about stats and you hear this "gobble gobble" in the background. I LOVE it.

Paul-Sadly I was only three and some change when the Twins won their last World Series, but I'm looking forward to them winning one in my memory.
I'm STOKED about the new ball park since I love outdoor baseball. I won't seriously start following baseball until I am A.) Home for the summer B.) Hockey is over completely. but for now I'll make random notations about it.

Eeeeps! Baseball IS coming! I could be open to bribing if you feel the need of another Twins fan.

I'm always willing to bribe people. The Twins will need all the fans they can get for this upcoming season. What is your asking price?

Hmmm... Let's see... An essay with photos on why I should be a Twins fan? If I do undertake this, I will be putting my beloved Jays on the shelf.

Kirsten said...

I could do that...but you don't have to give up your Jays! They are my second team, and they are going to have an excellent pitching rotation on paper this coming season. One of the best in baseball. I will however, write that essay any way.
